Be Apart of It
On that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old.
Amos 9:11
Hello Everyone,
On behalf of ODM, I am writing to share an urgent and faith-filled opportunity. We, as a church body, have committed to rebuilding Joel’s Place this year.
The challenges facing the existing building began well before Pastor Neil Bush was hospitalized. While he was in the hospital, the building was already facing significant maintenance issues. During this time, Pastor Neil expressed his wish for the building to be put up for sale. Following Pastor Neil’s passing, the building remained on the market but sat unoccupied. The pre-existing issues worsened significantly. It has now reached a point where restoration is no longer viable, and demolition is necessary. While this may seem like a setback, we believe it is God making room for something greater.
Joel’s Place has been a pillar in Port Wentworth, Georgia — serving through a food pantry, outreach ministry, and hands-on support for families in need, as well as a worship center. Lives have been touched. Needs have been met. Hope has been restored within those walls. We cannot allow that light to go out.
God has given us a vision to construct a cost-effective metal (barn-style) building that will provide more functional space, greater flexibility for ministry, and long-term sustainability. This new structure will allow us not only to continue what has been done before — but to expand it.
We are asking you to stand with us in three powerful ways:
1. Prayer – That God would guide every step, provide every resource, and continuously bless this rebuilding effort.
2. Financial Partnership – That together we can lay a foundation that will serve people for generations.
3. Skills/materials - We encourage anyone with relevant expertise – such as master builders or licensed electricians – to consider donating their time and professional skills to this project. Additionally, donations of construction materials are also greatly appreciated. Contributions in either of these areas would significantly reduce our overall project costs.
This is more than a construction project. It is a Kingdom Assignment. It is about rebuilding a place where families find hope, where the hungry are fed, and where the Gospel is lived out daily.
If the Lord places it on your heart to partner with us, we would be deeply grateful. Every gift, large or small, moves this vision forward.
Thank you for your faith, your prayers, and your willingness to build alongside us.
With gratitude and expectation,
Jayson Manalang
