Senior Pastor

Jayson Manalang is the son of Virginia and Angelino Manalang. His mother was on the way to the hospital to give birth but was unable to make it, so he was born under a tree by a river in San Simon Pampanga, Philippines. His biological father passed away in 1991. In 1999 he surrendered his life fully to the Lord and was baptized in the Holy Spirit. As he grew up, some of his family members wanted him to be a doctor or an engineer and go to college, but Jayson intentionally failed the entrance test because he knew God had bigger plans. Instead, he went to Bible College in 2002 and graduated in 2003. It was there at Bible college that he met Neil Bush, Ruth Baker, and Ron Hunter. Over the years Jayson and Pastor Neil developed a father and son relationship and considered Neil his dad.

He has served as an armor bearer, worship team member, children's pastor, and an interpreter for Neil Bush. He has traveled all over the Philippines doing crusades, being an interpreter for him. In February of 2004, Neil brought Jayson to the United States to serve and be ordained at Open Door Ministries. He served in whatever area that was needed, including, but not limited to, the worship team, outreaches, preaching, and teaching.

 

In 2007, Jayson met his future wife Alison and in 2009 they got married. They then lived in the Cartersville, Ga area and served at Bethel Worship Center, leading Children's Ministry under Pastor Scott & Lori Johnson. In 2012, they moved back to Port Wentworth, GA area to serve at Open Door Ministries. Jayson served on the worship team, along with teaching and preaching. Alison served in the Media Ministry. They both served in the Children's Ministry.

 

In 2013 they had their first child, a boy, Jaylison. In 2014, they had a girl, Addyson and in 2016, another girl, Madyson. The children grew up knowing Pastor Neil as their Lolo (Grandfather) as he was a father to Jayson.

On April 11, 2024, Pastor Neil Bush passed the mantle of Senior Pastorship of Open Door Ministries to Jayson Manalang. Pastor Jayson is continuing the vision of Pastor Neil Bush and Open Door Ministries. In July 2024, he was ordained by Pastor Ron Hunter of Spoken Word Outreach Ministries, Lobeco, SC.
